Alex,
I planned to write your 12 month post and then continue updating your blog every 6 months from now on. But now here we are 6 months later and I still haven't gotten to it. I want to let you know that mommy has been going through some stuff these past couple months. I promise I will talk to you about this when the timing is right, but for now just know that the changes I have made in my life are for the better and you and I have been having so much more fun because of it. For now, here is what we did during your 12th month:
We went swimming for your first time with Aunt E on the 4th of July. You loved the water so much. We splashed around and I floated you all over the pool. You had so much fun that day that I signed you up for swim lessons starting in September.
We also met up with some of my cousins to celebrate Brittany's birthday at Cunettos. Everyone loves to see you so much!
You have really turned into a loving boy. You like to give your friends hugs and kisses. You try to give Harrison kisses and he backs away. But your friends at daycare don't seem to mind too much:
You are also loving animals lately too. You like to meow at Sunny every time you see him. Chrissy said you like to "talk" to Apollo too at daycare.
You continue to take advantage of the summer time weather playing with water whenever we give you a chance. You love playing with the water toys at Chrissy's house and you love to play with the hose as well as the water table at our house.
You LOVE to play with all your toys at the house. One of your favorite "games" is putting things underneath the couch and then having mommy or daddy get it for you. You love to look at the toy under the couch and point to it.
You also love playing with mommy's stuff. You especially like my shiny ring and my sunglasses:
You recently took your first steps, however you still like to crawl to get around. I think it's just faster that way. You started drinking whole milk and you continue to love drinking water. Straws are your favorite! You also love to eat pretty much anything we put in front of you. Watermelon has been an especially big hit this summer.
I love you so much my sweet Alex! Here is what you look like at ONE YEAR OLD!!!
You are the best boy a mom could ever ask for! Next up, I'll recap your birthday. It was so much fun!
Love,
Mom
