On July 20th 2012, daddy and I got up with you as we sang happy birthday. After we were all dressed and ready to go, we went to St. Louis Bread Company for your very first egg souffle. You absolutely LOVED it and you used a fork by yourself for the first time!
After breakfast, we headed off to the St. Louis Zoo. It was SO much fun! We saw lots of animals and even rode the train!
Daddy thought it would be funny to get a picture of you by this sign . . . silly daddy!
You were SO close to walking at 1 year old! You just needed a little help with the support of mommy . . .
You loved the water spouts at the children's zoo as well as petting the goats. We had so much fun!
The next day, July 21st was your big birthday party. Daddy and I decided to practice singing Happy Birthday to you and let you dig into the cake for breakfast.
You also opened a present from mom and dad. You were a VERY happy boy on the morning of your birthday party except for when mommy tried to put on the hat she bought you. You DO NOT like hats!
2012 was a VERY hot summer and we had over 50 people coming to our small house, so we decided to make your birthday party a "Water Park" theme. We had a little pool, a water table and lot of sprinklers outside for all the kids to play in. We also had popsicles for everyone to enjoy out in the heat. So many people showed up to celebrate your first birthday. You are a very loved child!
We also sent in your picture to the News so they could put you on TV. So you got on screen for your first birthday!
Your birthday was amazing and it is one I will never forget. I'm so proud of you my little Sugar Pot! My life forever changed the day you were born and I wouldn't go back for anything. I love you my big one year old!
Love,
Mommy
